Flu Vaccinations 2020

This winter, the flu vaccination is more important than ever as we prepare for the potential risks of both flu and COVID-19.

In line with national plans, phase one is to protect the most vulnerable, those aged 65 and over, people with certain long-term medical conditions, pregnant women and young children will be vaccinated in this phase.

We have organised our flu clinics in a different way this year due to COVID-19 and the need to socially distance. We will not be running open access clinics.

We have run three Saturday flu sessions and we will be contacting patients again who were unable to attend, this will be either by telephone for some clinics during the week or via letter to another organised Saturday clinic once we have received additional vaccine.

Currently we have no further information about the phase two group (aged 50-64).  We are advised that this group will be offered a flu vaccination depending on the national stock levels.

We strongly advise you attend your appointment. If you cannot attend, please do not telephone the surgery, we will be in contact with you again.

If you have already had your vaccination, for example at a Pharmacy, please ignore your letter, our records will be updated with this information soon. Please attend your appointment at the time of your letter.

Please do NOT attend your appointment if you have any of these symptoms: a high temperature, new continuous cough, loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

Please wear a face covering when you enter the Health Centre.
