Repeat Prescriptions

Both Hadleigh Health Centre and Boxford Mill Surgery have fully stocked dispensaries, with trained dispensing staff.

We are unable to take repeat prescription requests via the telephone.

All medication details are recorded on our computer system and therefore if you lose your repeat prescription slip, please don't worry, we are able to look at our records and still order your repeat.

It is our policy to support the recommendations of the prescribing advisors at the Ipswich & East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group regarding the issue of prescribed drugs. Our normal issue is 28 days supply.

We do run a diary system at both Hadleigh and Boxford for regular repeats.  If you would like more information, please speak to one of the dispensers.

Dispensing

Patients who live more than one mile from the centre of Hadleigh can have their prescriptions dispensed by either the dispensary located in the Hadleigh health centre or Boxford surgery.

Patients living in Hadleigh itself have their prescriptions dispensed at one of the two dispensing chemists in Hadleigh. Repeat prescriptions are usually passed direct to the chemist, to save you having to collect the prescription yourself and carrying it round the chemist. All you need to do is advise the dispensary staff as to which chemist you wish to use. Please do allow 72 hours for your medication to be ready.

If you are entitled to free prescriptions or have a season ticket you will be asked to show your exemption certificate or season ticket.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner, clinical pharmacist or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
