How to Request a Home Visit
When requesting a home visit, please try to ring before 10:30.It helps the doctors plan their visits more efficiently. You may be asked to speak with a doctor to discuss the call as it may be possible to be seen at the surgery.
Please remember the doctor can see four patients in the surgery in the time it takes to do one house-call.
If you feel the need for a visit is urgent please tell the receptionist and she will put you through to a doctor.
Please only request a home visit when you are totally unable to attend the surgery. If you have no transport, please consider asking a friend, neighbour or relative for a lift. Or perhaps even take a taxi or bus.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
