Boxford Update

As you are aware, the Hadleigh Health Centre made an application to close the Boxford surgery branch last year and the closure came into effect in June this year.  

As a result of the closure, practice partners made an application to fund a taxi service out of its charitable funds to ensure those patients who had difficulty getting to and from Hadleigh practice could access the surgery.

The service has been operational and advertised by the practice throughout July and August and continues to run.  However, a recent review has revealed no take up of the taxi service.  Regardless of whether the taxi is used, the practice still must pay for the service from its charitable funds.  To date this has cost £1,000. 

We are committed to ensuring our patients can access our services but clearly operating a service at cost when there is no take up is a poor use of funds.  Therefore, we have decided to cease the service from 30 September.
