Message from Dr Gillian Croot

After 24 very happy and incredibly rewarding years at the practice, the time has come for me to retire from General Practice on 29 October 2026. 

I have been a GP for 27 years, and I have been fortunate enough to spend the last 24 years caring for patients here in our wonderful local community. Over that time, I have seen so many changes in medicine and in General Practice, but what has remained constant is the privilege of looking after people and their families through all the different stages of their lives.

Being a GP is a very special job. I have met people from all walks of life, been trusted with their worries and their most personal stories and shared in some of the happiest and most difficult moments of their lives. It has been an enormous privilege, and I will always be grateful for the trust that so many of you have placed in me.

I have also been incredibly lucky to work alongside such a dedicated, caring, and hardworking team. I am immensely proud of the practice and of everyone who works here, and I know that the practice and its patients are in very safe hands for the future.

Although I am looking forward to the next chapter and to having a little more time for life outside of General Practice, I know I will miss the people, the conversations, and the community enormously.

Thank you to all of you who have been my patients over the years. Thank you for your kindness, your trust and for allowing me to be part of your lives. I will take away many wonderful memories from my time here.
